Pathetic workshop. A dead mouse was found in my car post delivery and they are chsrging me 4000 to clean this up. I will make sure i give feedback about Mahindra Carworks online on all Facebook Twitter and everywhere. Pathetic experience faced and too much trouble and hassle.
I sent my car (Hyundai Xcent Petrol 2014) for a regular paid service from Chamunda Auto Solutions, Kurla booked via Mahindra Carworkz. The total bill amount came to Rs 7799. Apart from other things, the service advisor said that the Alternator belt was slightly worn out and I asked him to change it. I picked up my car in the evening and realised that there was an unusual sound coming from under the hood. I visited the workshop the next day but it was closed. I called the service advisor Pankaj several times during the week but he did not pick up the call even once. Meanwhile, the rattle sound continued. After a week, I finally took a day off from work and visited the workshop. This time the staff was completely unresponsive to my complaint and kept me waiting even to listen to my grievance. Pankaj in fact was even rude and I had to approach a senior person in the workshop. They checked the car and did not bother to check the source of rattling noise. They said, they could not hear any unusual sound so I asked them to send their technician at my home because it is in a quieter neighbourhood and he could have easily noticed that something was amiss. Now, this guy never showed up and the problem persisted. After a few days I took my car to my trusted local garage and the tehcnician understood the problem without even me having to tell the whole story. Apparently, while changing the alternator belt, the technicians at Chamunda either forgot to tighten the bolt that holds the alternator to engine block or did it in a shoddy manner as a result of which the alternator kept rubbing against the part of engine block where it is fastened and eventually damaged it. Engine block is made of alloy and once damaged, it cannot be repaired. I have consulted the authorised Hyundai workshop and the replacement may cost me upwards of Rs 1 lakh. Chamunda auto solutions refuses to acknowledge that it was their fault and I am considering a legal recourse. My sincere advice is, kindly avoid this workshop like plague and also avoid Mahindra Carworkz (a workshop aggregator at the most) who are only concerned about making a booking and earning their commission. The moment you have paid, Carworkz will leave you at the mercy of the workshop. One last point, Mahindra Carworkz website promises a cashback on booking a service. This cashback never materialises!
